Industrial floor
Tested in an extreme climate
Swedish industry contributes to 20% of the total value added of the entire Swedish business. Main industrial sectors are Transportation, Forest and Metal industry. Sweden regulates heavy commercial transport through strict winter tyre laws and seasonal limits on road-wearing studded tyres. Heavy trucks using studded tires cause severe localized abrasion on loading zone concrete floors due to high point-load pressure from metal studs. Trucks up to 64–74 tonnes transfer immense dynamic loads into the slab, accelerating surface fatigue. Loading zones, entrances and exits suffer the highest shear and scratching forces as trucks brake, turn, or accelerate.
Cement and concrete reinforced with our Arctic Shield Technology have proven to resist wear up to 3 times longer compared to reference concrete. Abrasive wear has been evaluated with a tribology meter and pin-on-disc method, using a steel pin on a cement/concrete disc. We believe we can provide a sustainable and cost-efficient solution to the high maintenance surfaces at the many loading zones, entrances and exits.
